Utility and Incentives

METERA is the focal point of our platform. Every Metera Tokenized Index (MTK) issued includes METERA as an asset within the MTK asset holdings, creating natural demand and supporting liquidity. It also gives the community a voice, as holders can propose and vote on MTK launches, shape strategic initiatives, and guide treasury allocations.

Even though protocol fees are collected in ADA, a portion is used to buy and burn METERA, reinforcing its deflationary nature. Additionally, METERA holders can participate in staking programs, where instead of receiving more METERA as rewards, stakers earn yield in MTK shares generated from the platform’s entry and exit fees. This incentivizes long-term holding, reduces token supply, rewards stakers with unique MTK shares and ensures that value is retained within the Metera ecosystem.

METERA is crucial to the protocol's operation. It is required as an underlying asset for every MTK issued, creating organic demand thanks to our balancing mechanism.
